FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Tropical Storm Edouard Update 1

Emergency Communications

We are monitoring Tropical Storm Edouard as it moves westward across the Gulf of Mexico. At this time, it poses no immediate threat to the University of Houston, but a hurricane watch has been issued for the Upper Texas Gulf Coast down to Port O'Connor.  This means that hurricane conditions are possible within the area within 36 hours.

Current predictions call for the storm to be very near the coast of Southwestern Louisiana or the Upper Texas coast Tuesday.  Please check the UH Emergency Operations Website (www.uh.edu/emergency or www.uhemergency.info ) for updates.

The 2008 UH Severe Weather Response Planning Kit is now available.
