SUSPECT #1: Black male, long white T-shirt, blue jean pants, white tennis shoes, clean cut cropped hair with no facial hair, 6' 1" to 6' 2" tall and possibly 22 to 24 years of age.
SUSPECT #2: Black male, long whiteT-shirt, blue jean pants, white tennis shoes, clean cut cropped hair with no facial hair, 6' 1" to 6' 2" tall and possibly 22 to 24 years of age.
SUSPECT #3: Black male, long white T-shirt, blue jean pants, white tennis shoes, clean cut cropped hair with no facial hair, 6' 1" to 6' 2" tall and possibly 22 to 24 years of age.
SUSPECT #4: Black male, long white T-shirt, blue jean pants, white tennis shoes, clean cut cropped hair with a goatee, 6' 1" to 6' 2" tall and possibly 22 to 24 years of age.
WEAPON: None used.
VEHICLE: No motor vehicle involved.
SYNOPSIS: On Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008 a UH student reported that on Aug, 26, 2008 at approximately 7 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., he was robbed by four unknown male subjects while off campus. The complainant reported that while stopped on his bicycle at the intersection of the 4800 block of Scott Street at the 3800 block of Wheeler Street, he was approached from behind by the four suspects. The complainant stated that one of the suspects struck him from behind, knocking him to the ground. He advised that as he fell to the ground his wallet fell out of his pocket. One of the suspects then stated to him "don't do anything stupid", while demanding his personal property. The complainant complied and handed over his wallet to the suspects. All four suspects ran away from the scene northbound on Scott Street and then westbound on Eagle Street.
Although this incident did not occur on the UH campus, the University of Houston Department of Public Safety wants the community to be aware of the occurrence, due to the close proximity to the campus.

SAFETY TIPS: Confrontations can occur without provocation, through no fault of your own. When such confrontations do occur, there are some actions you can take:
- BE ALERT!!
- Be cautious when approached by an unknown person on the street, even the nicest person can have ill intent.
- Remain as calm as possible.Your own initiative and clear thinking are your best defenses.
- The University has more than 70 Emergency call boxes placed strategically around campus, use them! The call goes directly to the UHDPS Dispatch Center.
- Report the incident. Call the police immediately and report what has happened. Call (713) 743-3333 or 911.
- Do not walk alone, if at all possible walk in groups.
- Try to notice details. This can allow you to provide the police with detailed physical and clothing descriptions of the person(s) involved.
- If a vehicle is involved, try to note the vehicle's license plate number or the vehicle's manufacturer, model and color or any other identifying features.
Seek support after an incident. Victims can benefit from University support services after the incident. Faculty, staff and students can call Counseling and Psychological Services at (713) 743-5454 for assistance.
