The University of Houston is re-opening Tuesday, Sept. 16. Classes will be held. However, no exams will be given or projects undertaken during the rest of this week. Personal safety remains a top priority and no one should attempt to come to campus if it compromises their security. Off-campus students can begin checking into their student residences as early as noon Monday. Some townhouses at Bayou Oaks may not be available until 6 p.m. Tuesday, but students affected will be offered other accommodations. NOTE: Housing is available only to students who already have an arrangement with the university. No general accommodations are available to non-residential students. In keeping with the City of Houston curfew, all evening classes will conclude by 7:30 p.m.
The campus is safe, power is generally available, water pressure has been restored and adjacent road ways are clear, though not all traffic signals are working. Food and retail operations will be phased in throughout the day.
