CASE UPDATE
The suspect in this case was arrested on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 and is now incarcerated in the Harris County Jail. This suspect was also charged with the aggravated robbery that occurred in parking lot 9C on January 26, 2010.
Suspect Description: Black male, 19 to 25 years of age, approximately 5’7”, 170 lbs with a dark complexion, skin damage on cheeks. The male did appear to have a partial beard. The male was wearing a black quilted jacket with a white t-shirt and blue jeans. He was also wearing a possibly handmade black necklace that appeared religious in nature. He was also wearing white running shoes with red and black trim.
Weapon: A small black pistol (unknown if it was a revolver or semi-auto).
Vehicle: None involved.
Synopsis: At shortly after 2:00pm on February 04, 2010, a UH student was robbed at gunpoint on Cullen Blvd. near UH entrance 10. The student advised that the suspect approached her and asked to use her IPhone 3g. The suspect then produced a firearm and fled with the complainant's phone. The student advised that the suspect left the area on foot heading east into UH lot 9C. The student was not injured in the incident.

Confrontations can occur without provocation, through no fault of your own. When such confrontations do occur, there are some actions you can take:
- BE ALERT!!
- Be cautious when approached by an unknown person on the street, even the nicest person can have ill intent.
- Remain as calm as possible.Your own initiative and clear thinking are your best defenses.
- The University has more than 70 Emergency call boxes placed strategically around campus, use them! The call goes directly to the UHDPS Dispatch Center.
- Report the incident. Call the police immediately and report what has happened. Call (713) 743-3333 or 911.
- Do not walk alone, if at all possible walk in groups.
- Try to notice details. This can allow you to provide the police with detailed physical and clothing descriptions of the person(s) involved.
- If a vehicle is involved, try to note the vehicle's license plate number or the vehicle's manufacturer, model and color or any other identifying features.
